This may be controverial with some, but I heard this morning that Facebook is about to charge us a monthly membership fee. Well, this feels like bait and switch to me. I have an account on Typepad where I post this blog. I knew up front that there was a fee involved, and agreed to it. On the other hand, Facebook was and always had been free.
Furthermore, I feel like part of the conspiracy. I have encouraged many, many people to join Facebook and make posting there part of their daily communication with their sphere and the world at large. I was part of their plan, I guess. I feel like I need a shower.
What I want to know now, is where will you go, when and if Facebook starts charging?
I agree. I am a big advocate of building your network. One of the best ways to do this is through social media like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Like you, I have recommended Facebook to my friends and business associates alike, and I will be very angry if they pull what amounts to a "bait and switch" with the thousands of customers I have sent their way.
I only wish that I could answer the question about where will I go if this happens.
